Track ID from 1984 Stonehenge, please?

Postby Doubleclick » Mon Feb 17, 2014 19:50

Does anybody know what song this is? I have the original Seaside, Obvious Identity, Toy World, Archive, Rude Bootleg etc, but I don't seem to have this.

I haven't watched the Youtube video, but I bet you're listening to The New General.
Hello little doggy,
My, you are a nice dog,
What did you just say then?
You could do some tricks! Oh, good, then will you show me?
My word that's a good one!
Would you like a cigarette?
No you can't, they're bad for you!

should have watched the video! - this one is 'The Bitter Pill' - i really like this one - shame there's not a nice studio version available

here's another live version, which must have been recorded around the same time:

Ah okay. Thanks a lot! Shame about the lack of a studio version, as you say, although it feels to me like bits of this were re-tooled for other songs (some elements in common with "A Wooden Fish on Wheels", "Icing on the World").

it was a fair guess, without watching the video - you had a 50% chance of being right!
