Lovely turn of phrase you have to. I especially liked 'resembling Buzz Osbourne reincarnated as a young spruce tree' xM
last one out turn off the lights.

That's an excellent read - nice, well measured, intelligent questions. If I interviewed a Cardiac, past or present, I'd just be a slavering fanboy.

I hope he finds those three weeks to compile the MB boxset very soon!

thanks for the feedback. was a bit nervous how it'd go down among you learned fishies.

anything else lined up writing-wise? well, I do reviews/interviews for the Quietus occasionally, though nothing on the horizon at the moment. however, I write for magazine every other month, including interviews with the likes of Mogwai, Patton, Miasma..., Zu, Harvey Milk, Sleepytime, etc. did a Knifeworld piece for them, too... and next issue will have a feature on Book of Knots (Sleepytime spin-off, whose Garden of Fainting Stars is my favourite album of 2011 so far).

oh, and there's a rarely updated blog for my scribblings too: . this piece on odd time signatures may be of particular interest around these parts:

thanks for asking, and please excuse the spam...

yeah, book of knots are great. I liked the first two albums, but the third is just magnificent. easily their best, I'd say. carla kihlstedt has the most unbelievably beautiful voice.

your K interview was rather spiffy. I was really glad you asked about "me to the future you" - definitely a special song, that one. endless chorus, indeed!
