Ships and Irons Two?

Postby brother abnego » Wed Nov 22, 2006 12:13

Apologies if anyones posted along these lines previously....does anyone know if theres any plans for another collection of B-sides and so on, along the lines of Songs for Ships and Irons?

By my reckoning theres...Suzannahs still alive, No Bright Side, Ideal, Joining The Plankton, Spinney, What Paradise is Like, Hurricane, Devils, Insect Hooves On Lassie (Instrumental), Sang All Away Away, Dog Like Sparky (Instrumental)...

and theres probably more I've missed...

what do you think?

cool or fool?

that would be... IDEAL!
ho ho ho...

I would love that though, I haven't got many of those songs on CD (or... at all... not even MP3, the paupers' format)

Where did the instrumental of Insect Hooves On Lassie appear? Don't think I have that!

Oh right - I didn't buy it at the time because I thought I already had the tracks elsewhere. Didn't realise it was instrumental - a cheeky sales technique that!

Sean Organ often sticks Cardiacs/Camp Blackfoot CD on ebay. Don't worry Biwalletiron isn't bothere with it. It usually goes for a couple of quid.

Add Silvery too that - broken or otherwise!

There must be a copy of Bitter Pill by Mark Cawthra around? Sadly missing from that Garage affair.

...so we've got, in no particular order;

Suzannahs still alive
No Bright Side
Ideal
Joining The Plankton
Spinney
What Paradise is Like
Hurricane
Devils
Insect Hooves On Lassie (Instrumental)
Sang All Away Away
Dog Like Sparky (Instrumental)
Silvery

...I'm also thinking 'Faster than Snakes With a Ball and a Chain' should probably be thrown in...I seriously doubt its going to be found on any new Cardiacs album despite claims to the contrary on the back cover of 'Greatest Hits', and its appearance on that compilation doesn't necessarily preclude its appearance anywhere else...theres also a bunch of radio session stuff from which you could pluck some ripe fruit (Cameras and suchlike)...god help me...in my minds eye I've already photoshopped a poncey little CD cover and everything...

Well I'd buy it - definitley sling Cameras and Faster than Snakes in there - and perhaps Goosegash too which was mysteriously missing from SFS&I...
