I went to the first two Garage gigs. They wuz fab. First time with the new sashes'n'patent leather shoes look. Most natty. Ironically one of the best tracks was the encore on the first night, probably the best version of Big Ship ever played by man or beast. "Here she comes...sails billowing...majestic as f**k!"

I was trying to think if there was any other band that did anything like this, before - revisiting early, first songs and upgrading them to present performance standards...all I can think of, is Jane Siberry who sort of recently recorded an album of songs she wrote in her teens (called, 'Teenager') - a sweet, odd thing, not essential listening though.

That's when he's talking to Jon in the crowd innit? anyone know why he shouts some bollocks about Superman II before it kicks in?

i think i have sussed this,
during tims solo gig in camden
tim is talking to someone could be jon possibly
about superman,
and i suppose it would make sense to carry on the conversation about it
even if it is 2- 3 years later, :)
get well soon tim smith !!!

I like the bit at the very end of Gibber and Twitch where Tim slightly flubs a line-!, and finds time to say 'oh (fnuck)' before tearing into the next one.
Hope Day is fantastic. My congratulations to whoever was in that pond, good job singing along on that!
(Can't wait to hear Garage vol 2. Unfortunately can't just afford to buy everything the ABC has on offer, in one shot - but there's always something else to look forward to)

He does it in another song... I forget which but he goes "meow meow meow meow fark it"

Makes me giggle.

Oh ahhh yes!
You all won't believe this, but my copy of the Garage vol II just arrived this minute! I'm listening to it here at work, and eating crunchy Cheetos and wiping orange stuff on my pant legs!
"Don't make that sign!" ha ha

As well as being chock full of face-blasting good tunes, this Garage no. 2 has a lot of preposterous titles. If I wasn't already 'schlep' I think I might have chosen "an ant" as a Forum moniker!
Do we already have a "Mr. Minnow" and "Mr. Sparrow"? Maybe a "Bertie"?

I'd only want a nickname "before it's even been written"

Ha, I was just listening to some of the Tim Smith live thing in the Pond, and at the end of Bodysbad he's 'meowing' again!
