Have you all heard the new version of Dinner Time on the blog in the original thread? Absolutely astounding! I can't believe the clarity and definition they've mean able to eke out of such an old recording. At the very beginning of the song (the crazy bit), there's a squeak sound that I've never even heard before! It seems that there's so much buried in the old mix, it's going to be like rediscovering the album !!! :)
Hello little doggy,
My, you are a nice dog,
What did you just say then?
You could do some tricks! Oh, good, then will you show me?
My word that's a good one!
Would you like a cigarette?
No you can't, they're bad for you!

Mornin' forum.

Well, I'm now £97 lighter (including postage), coz I had to have the CD as well.

Jesus.

But it's for Timmy innit. I wouldn't do this for any other band, person, or cause :)

OK, so my wife talked me into it and the box is ordered

Looks like I buggered up on Discogs by updating it with the new set. I had no idea you had to actually own the stuff. Whoops...

It made me wonder, if they can do this with The Seaside, what else can they do with what they have? The original tape for the Cardiac Arrest EP , including the first version of Dead Mouse, still exists. Archive Cardiacs proves that there are other tracks out there. Could the other albums be remastered and released one day? Even the original demo is out there, ripe for remastering!

I publicly apologize, DrTerror.... I use to check the dates of posts and threads to avoid to write the same thing twice... somehow I didn't notice your post was already there.... sorry again...

However, this seems to be again a good moment to be a Cardiacs fan... The Seaside boxset, Tim's conditions.... Mike Vennart published a Cardiacs concert from 2002 where Oceansize did a cover of Eat it up Worms hero, another guy uploaded a good soundboard recording of Cardiacs live in 1983 in Brixton, and this morning also someone also posted on fb a Tim solo show that I missed...

Have a nice lovely day!
anything anyplace anywhere for no reason at all

So gutted I missed this. After the Quietus article this week I think a lot of people will be sobbing at the fact this has been and gone. ::cry:

Ah, but it hasn't! I don't think this box is going to be a limited edition due to the scalpers on eBay et al. The only reason it says 'Sold Out' at the moment is because this was the first batch. There is another batch coming soon and it should be a regular item in the shop.

Aha! Brilliant to hear if that's the case. I'd better start saving...
