Re: New Version Of The Seaside
Can anyone confirm if there's an extra track at the end of The Seaside? It's been a while since I played it and I can't remember if there was a hidden track.
Re: New Version Of The Seaside
I got my copy today and there's no secret track. I've changed psparky's edit on Discogs to reflect this.

I guess PSparky is up to his old tricks again. Thanks for the info.
Re: New Version Of The Seaside
A bit of an update.
There is a very brief passage of music tagged onto the end of Nurses... mid-way through the album, but it hardly warrants "hidden track" status.

Re: New Version Of The Seaside
From what I can gather from what PSparky is trying to say, it's 40 seconds of Hymn. When I did the track listing for Toy World on Discogs, I included two outtakes, namely Over... and ...Verses. Should the partial version of Hymn be included as an outtake or is it just too short and insubstantial?

I'd go with this. I've added a note to the submission about its inclusion.
It's a fantastic product, by the way. My favourite album of all time just got better.

Yes, I listened to the track they released and was astonished at the sound quality. There are other noises that were really buried in the mix. I ordered the box, so I'm still waiting, but that's fine with me

The boxes are on their way!!!

Re: New Version Of The Seaside
Just got the chance to hear this today (cd version). It's fabby. It's the first time I've heard the full 13-track album rather than the 9-track one, and even though three of the restored songs are on other albums (actually I suppose Dinner Time is on the Garage Concerts too) it adds lots of depth and texture to The Seaside having them on there, making it even more impressive what the band were capable of in those fairly early stages. Is This The Life feels a little hasty compared to the other LP version but it still gave me goosebumps. A Little Man and a House is a much more subdued, sensitive little version which works well in the middle of the album. Nurses has oodles of atmosphere. Anyway, loved the whole thing from beginning to end. CD booklet and everything was lovely too. A wondrous item, thanks to all involved.

Re: New Version Of The Seaside
I keep finding confetti everywhere! Anyway...
...where are the FLAC files? On FB, the Consultant distinctly said that various audio files would be available. Sadly, there only seems to be MP3 ones. Oh, well, guess I'll have to buy the CD as well.
Also, this box was never supposed to be limited edition. I thought the plan was to always have it available to avoid scalping and such? I wonder when the first one will go up on Ebay?

It's like a new album, but it isn't! They must have used pixie magic to get it to sound that good!
