New Version Of The Seaside

Postby drterror666 » Wed Oct 14, 2015 12:51

According to the rabble at Faecebook, there will be a new version of The Seaside available soonish. Whether this is a re-release of the CD version or, amazingly, the entire thing, is anyone's guess. I thought the missing songs were lost for good, but I'm aware that technology has come forward quite a bit.

Here is a snippet from caughtinthecrossfire blog

The re-issued record will be coming out via the Alphabet Business Concern on November 30th this year with ... the original running order on CD, double gate-fold vinyl – both cut from the original 1984 1/4″ master reel. There’s also a tasty boxset coming, with the inclusion of replica newsletters, (YOUsletters) a cassette, poster, Walker prints, lyric booklet and a beautiful photo book containing previously unseen photography.

Start saving!
Hello little doggy,
My, you are a nice dog,
What did you just say then?
You could do some tricks! Oh, good, then will you show me?
My word that's a good one!
Would you like a cigarette?
No you can't, they're bad for you!

Oooh!

I (obviously) have the Seaside CD - plus (from somewhere...?) mp3s of the tracks that weren't included on it: I wonder whether they've been 'cleaned up' or summat...

There is life on this forum at last!!!

I keep hearing (well, reading) mumblings that this is the ORIGINAL The Seaside tracklist. They must have used pixie magic if this is the case.

This is the most exciting thing to have happened in years!!!

What, exactly, is a Walker print?

Walker Print were a printing firm in Newman Street, London, that pretty well had the market sewn up in promotional postcards, etc. in the 70s and 80s. They don't seem to be still going...
What they cleverly did was to put their logo and phone number on everything they produced, whether the customer liked it or not, so they had a built-in advertising campaign and became the first port of call if you wanted stuff that looked like this:

So "a Walker print" is a bit generic i suppose.

Almost forgotten how to 'post'. :)

It goes on pre-sale on Tuesday, so your question will be answered then. I hope it's not too expensive. I'm hoping for not more that £50.
