what does the reviewer expect? If these musicians had the vision and talent of Tim, they'd be the ones having tribute albums made for them, and not vice versa. I mean, come on, this is a HARD band to cover.

I think the key thing is that for pretty much all the tracks on "Leader..." and what I've heard of "Loyal Companion..", the bands and musicians have put their own spin and interpretation on the music, rather than do straight-ahead covers. (which would be a bad idea...)

Tijuana brass and banjos on Anything I Can't Eat? That's just mental  , Mr. Sterbus, but laudation to you for doing it! :)

cheers

Steve

I remember , when I met Kavus in Rome for his gig with Guapo, that he told me that the new album had "a two minute track the most mental tim ever written, absolutely amazing"... this was back in 2008...

I'm sure that, at some point in the near future, we will be able to listen to this 'mental' track. I just hope there aren't too many legalities involved in releasing the 'new' album, the videos, etc., etc. :(
Hello little doggy,
My, you are a nice dog,
What did you just say then?
You could do some tricks! Oh, good, then will you show me?
My word that's a good one!
Would you like a cigarette?
No you can't, they're bad for you!

I admire your optimism, but it's been, what, four years now ; if they were legally able they probably would have done so :(

I don't think it's the legalities holding the new album back so much as the fact that's it's not finished. I think the last we heard was that Tim hadn't added the vocals before falling ill... ::(

We need someone who sounds like Tim! Or Mark Cawthra!

Review of the Songbook Tribute by Dann Chinn:

I suppose there's a thread in The Seaside where this should properly go, one day...
