Just listened to a bit of Sings II before work today, and was surprised at the guitars in Bell Stinks - 1 minute 19 seconds of wonderfulness.
Little touches turn up even after many listenings, like the feedback intro at the beginning of 'Nurses...'. I'd heard it, but not really heard it y'know.

Cardiacs music always rewards conscious listening.

Bit much for first thing in the morning... :)
I've been listening to StG2 a lot of late -- i tend to skip Dirty Boy as i can't take it as a starter, more of an ender.
Bell Stinks is Cardiacs as The Shadows, i can see 'em lined up doing those back and forth fancy foot movements.

People are always saying, there are more musical ideas in one Cardiacs tune than in other bands' whole albums/careers - Bell Stinks seems like what could happen if they just isolated one or two noises/riffs/things and put em down in one-minute sketches.
Thinking of the Residents 'Commercial Album'.

Bell Stinks would make an awesome signature tune for some kind of superhero series. The kind of traditional black and white affair like Rocketman.

I can see fast edits, explosions, near misses, saving girlies and doing away with bad guys.

Maybe thats just me.

{Another morning listen to StG}

Belly-eyed bleeder, terminal deceiver
You fibber of the order
Comes swimming up a shape with a stinging tail

That ghost looks a bit special-school, scaring no-one, I hope that's not it's great big fanny, is this from stringrays wives? The splayed pose, the pearl neckless, the toothless dinner lady good looks and appalling wallpaper all say that it is.

That was the Dame Edna of stingrays.

And do you find that serves you well?

Personally I find it makes my life better if I say my prayers every night before going to sleep. Not out loud of course, that would be unnecessary. And it's not prayers exactly, it's more the song Dirty Boy. And I don't so much recite it as meditate on its meaning. Well it's not so much meditation as celebration. Okay, I have a pull.
