The Museum is closing its doors

Postby Alternate BC » Thu Feb 23, 2012 21:38

Dear all,

With pain in my heart it is my sad duty to inform you that i decided to stop with The Museum this year. After 6 years it's time to move on.

The good news is that it is not the end of The Museum and the forum called The Maresnest. I've found someone who is a Cardiacs nut and who is willing to take over the website and forum and is indeed worthy of laudation. For some he will be even a familiar face. Details will be revealed in the coming months after everything has been moved smoothly to another server.

Leaves me to say goodbye and thanks to all who have contributed to the site in any way.

YOU know who you are.

It's been a good 6 years with the big highlight being Frosty and I going to the 2007 Cardiacs gig in the Astoria and staying in London for a few days and meeting Tim and the others a lot of you lovely people.

So, thank you, my best wishes and goodnight.
Maarten

No, just the Astoria gig. And before in The Angel where we met a lot of 'forummers' and 'chatlisters' The next day we went to the NSRO gig.

Yeah, you've done an amazing job - as I've said a loads of times already, I spent 20-odd years not knowing another Cardiacs fan until stumbling across your site, so thank you!

That weekend in 2007 was the pinacle of my Cardiacs fandom - such a great time :D

It was a just matter of weeks after i discovered Cardiacs that i discovered this forum, then in its early days. If it hadn't been for the discussion and micro-surgery that followed i'd still be wallowing about in my own ignorance.

You are a hero Alt., and thanks for everything. :)

At least it's going to carry on. I'd have been gutted if the forum had been shut down.
Hello little doggy,
My, you are a nice dog,
What did you just say then?
You could do some tricks! Oh, good, then will you show me?
My word that's a good one!
Would you like a cigarette?
No you can't, they're bad for you!

Thanks for all the hard work!! The Museum is one of the sites I snoop for and look for weird Cardiacs artifacts. I was worried when you didn't update for half a year, apparently rightfully so :( . But still, great job!
