Salutations New Fishies. Its lovely here. I joined seeking specific information, discovered two people i knew already, found myself slowly reading just about every forum post here, and like a party of 500 nerds, most here i think stand around the peanuts throwing in the odd comment trying to catch someone's eye, apart from worms who might throw the peanuts, and Clippa who's found the Xbox and is playing some Deathmatch with Sparky... Rather fabulous really... xM

New fishes! Hello to you all! It's especially nice to see another Stump fan cluttering up the place. Feel free to chip into my Stump thread here which I made back when I claimed to be a Trouserpress and not a Hemulen (not very long but pretty dull story): viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3169&p=81994

I worked the Leeds and Reading festivals this weekend, driving for noisy bastards "Sharks" (http://www.myspace.com/sharks) who played the Lock Up stage. I was wandering around backstage when I heard a thick-accented American voice say, "F*cking hell man, Cardiacs!" (I was wearing my tee-shirt as I generally do to such events). The chap, who may have been in one of the (mainly noisy hardcore) bands or was one of their crew, proceeded to tell me how he'd heard a tune played in a night club somewhere in the States a while ago and had felt compelled enough to clamber up the DJ platform to ask what it was. He's a fan to this day. I'd have asked his name but we were in a hurry to leave. Warms the cockles.

Truly heartwarming to see so many North Americans "coming out" as it were...

Also nice to see that Schlep survived the temblor - must have been quite an experience. Just had a moderate one here in LA not more than 15 minutes ago.

Hi...another new fish here from So Cal USA (Pasadena)
I did not feel that earthquake.....
I posted another hello, but just realized that it should have been here....

I'm just another new fan..or addict, rather... of Cardiacs and kicking myself for not knowing about them sooner...(my only regret in life is not ever seeing them live)
I'm just another 'boffin' (as it's known in the UK)...former musician turned engineer and guitar amp tech

What is peculiar is that I used to have a CD called '2020 Sound' by Dark Star that someone made for me and never made the connection.....go figure...

Thanks to Steven Wilson for leading me to Tim Smith & Cardiacs via 'Stoneage Dinosaur'
