Re: An Ant Bumming Shed Rehearsal?

It's the subject of another thread here somewhere - I think we're being encouraged to salivate in anticipation of a *thing to buy in time for Christmas*!
It sounds so good....
EDIT: I hope we're being encouraged...

Please be a DVD. Please.
Actually, go on. Be a Blu Ray. For maximum expense. I need that shed in one thousand and eighty p.
FINE. 4K, and that's my final offer.

What, not Blu-ray 3D?
Re: An Ant Bumming Shed Rehearsal?
Expect it was shot and/or edited in SD. It'd look better kept that way eh.

Actually its not in 29.97 nor is it 4:3. Of course that could be a letterbox and 24fp conversion for YouTube. But I bet its film.
It looks like film. It moves like film. It looks 16:9 ratio. So I bet its a film transfer.
So Blu ray would be ideal.

They could put an easter egg in Jim's pants.

I didn't say it was either!
I've actually not noticed An Ant is 720 on YouTube, so it's letterboxed and pillarboxed. Weird.
The other two are letterboxed 4:3 though. If they were shot as 16:9, hopefully any eventual release presents them that way. If they are 4:3 with letterbox mattes added, I'd rather they were kept like that too tbh.
Anyway, the YouTube video is 30fps. It's mostly 4:2 cadence, but it slips into something longer occasionally I think. The 4:2 suggests 25fps natively though.
I'd be very, very surprised if it was film. It's got the same bleached look as Tims Wildhearts film, it just looks like grading to me.

I'd have guessed it was shot SD PAL.

Sorry, didn't mean to call you out as wrong. Just that I am myself taking a guess, since it has the look of 24 strobe and the 16x9 aspect even though it is quite pushed back in the frame on YouTube.
Regardless. I'd be happy with any format because the content is so damn compelling.
Intimate setting with intimate music with Jim in intimates.

Re: An Ant Bumming Shed Rehearsal?
That Wildhearts DVD was widescreen letterboxed on a 4:3 image. So frustrating, since you've essentially thrown away a third of the pixels... Hopefully this won't be the case for the Garage Rehearsals.
