Maybe if we shout very LOUD that we want a proper vinyl release. How about this:
1) 180g triple vinyl - five sides of music with one side laser etched with Cardiacs logo, man and house;
2) Each piece of vinyl in a separate colour;
3) The whole package in a custom sleeve with sleeve protector.
Well, I love vinyl and I can dream...
Look what's new at the Consultant's Memorabilia Collection!

Re: Look what's new at the Consultant's Memorabilia Collecti
Vinyl can be damn expensive to press, so its always a bit riskier than CD, which is a little bit risky on a budget, and even more still than iTunes , which isnt really that risky at all, all in terms of sunk cost if the product don't sell.
My band looked into vinyl after we had a LOT of people ask us about it, but we just couldn't make the sums add up in a safe way. Which is a shame, because theres just something about vinyl, especially when you've got a nice analogue recording chain from tape to mastering to vinyl. The physics of it being "better" are just nonsense, but theres something about the sound that just sounds good.
And I will be buying the shit out of sing to god on vinyl if it happens. Mark my words.

The sound on vinyl is warmer whereas the sound on CD is technologically superior, but much starker. Electronic music gains a lot from being on CD, but most rock sounds better on vinyl.

It can be pressed on 180g coloured vinyl, though.

Yup, though I suspect these things are decided.
Would prefer black though tbh, personally and that.
It's been mastered specially for vinyl, apparently it sounds very very good.

How do you know these things, are you 'connected'? Do we need to sit up straight and watch our Ps & Qs?

I agree - good ole black vinyl is all you need. I always found there was a weird hiss to my coloured vinyl/picture discs.
We bought one of these recently - I love it. Really enjoying going through all my old vinyl.

Picture discs are notoriously crap. Coloured vinyl hiss is a new one to me because it's still vinyl. Anyway, you'd get great sound on whatever vinyl if pressed on to true 180g.

Ah, yes, that's what it is. I was a sucker for picture discs in the 80s/early 90s - I have some really nice ones but yes, they sounds terrible.

The best thing for picture discs is to nail them to your wall!!!
