In the meantime I can say that there will be a Songbook 2 of the tribute album. I have my hands completely tied up with recording the new Knifeworld album, rehearsing with Guapo, and a special exciting secret release for the label (Believers Roast) but once I have a shred of spare time the cogs will start to turn on this. We can promise some very interesting contributors!

Yes, there's going to be another one!!! I wonder if Napalm Death's cover of To Go Off and Things will be on it? Can't wait to see what this 'secret release' will be.

Looks like Cardiacs will never be a band ever again. From what Kavus says, Tim doesn't sound too mobile, although he's sound cerebrally. Very sad, but at least we have everything already written and performed by Tim.
Hello little doggy,
My, you are a nice dog,
What did you just say then?
You could do some tricks! Oh, good, then will you show me?
My word that's a good one!
Would you like a cigarette?
No you can't, they're bad for you!

He's a good man, that Kavus. Thanks for the link, wouldn't have seen that.

Kinda no surprise on the Tim front, but I can't wait for the new Knifeworld stuff (feels sort of mercenary to say that just after Tim news).

I'm touched.
Cardiacs music is the best thing ever happened to my life.
Meeting Tim after the Astoria 2007, his face surprises when I told him that I came from Rome only that day to see them live, he gave me a hug, and I got a photo with him...
When I had to do something, so I did Dirty Boy quiet as a prayer...
When it was on the Loyal Companion I was so proud of me...

Thanks forever Tim ! :D
anything anyplace anywhere for no reason at all
All my music here... http://sterbus.bandcamp.com/

Top man indeed is Kavus. A lovely open, honest and touching message. I was sad and happy at the same time, which is an odd feeling...

cheers

Well, I know a few of us on here, including me, had a section in that book that was put together for Tim. I wonder how many other bands have had such devoted fans?

This.
It's always so lovely to know that he is still entirely Tim, but the circumstances are still very sad.

I read these precious yet again so brief snippets of updates on Tim much like I would read a meaningless message from a long unrequited love interest...Trying to peek between the lines to find some kind of long awaited revelation, something uplifting and cheerful, after all it has been 5 years...But after a few reads it is sad to conclude that not much has changed. It is agonizing to know so little, on the other hand, what more is there to know? One day there will be good news for a change and we shall all celebrate and dance the night away to syncopated odd meters and illogical chord progressions.

I for one think that: a) one more confirmation that Tim's intellect has remained untouched, and b) he's taking his own situation pretty well, are pretty good news!

Finally got around to seeing this. The Garage Rehearsal videos 90% done and dusted -! Oh well. I will be as glad to see them when I'm 62, as when I'm 72. I like what K. says about Captain Beefheart, much as I love him...he's no Tim Smith! hee hee

Another hopeful tit bit from Kavus on that Progressive Ears thing, from today:

Lots of cogs turning at the moment. Stuff will hopefully be resurfacing in the not too distant.

Maybe talking about videos, but who knows what cogs? Cogs in cogs turning around. :)
