Re: For The Benefit Of Mr Smith Too
We should do a night in Sheffield.
Are there any suitable live venues that could accomodate The Benefit?
minimum 200
also Manchester
and Bristol is worth a shout

what a great idea but you maybe better asking some of the people on the facebook pagesfor venues as i have only just moved up. Def agree with Bristol too.
I know Buttons is local to sheffield .
If I can help in anyway thenlet me know. I would love to help in anyway even if its just helping with handing out flyers or putting some posters up:)

they have one ale pump (i think serving doombar last time i was in), and when that runs out it's bottles of newkie b...prices ok for london. it's an improvement on a few years back when it was an ale desert.
if you have pre-show thirst, the b&g is 10 mins walk away from the southampton arms, which is a dedicated real ale/real cider house. and there's also the pineapple a couple of streets away which has won various camra pub awards.

Thanks for the gen, Newkie Brown is my usual fall back position when there is no real ale (but never, ever, Guinness. Vile stuff).
I might also do a little ale tour beforehand

Sorry to hear that Ady - all the best in finding something half decent. I can't make it either.

Re: For The Benefit Of Mr Smith Too
New member and Sheffield resident here.
I think 200 is optimistic for a Sheffield crowd - I doubt Cardiacs themselves pulled in more than 200 when they played at the (now-defunct) Boardwalk on the last tour.
Having said that, if someone still wants to do this I may offer my assistance, and other suggestions.
