Surprised there's been no posts about the Windmill benefit yet, either here or on the chatlist. Did no-one here go in the end? I want to know who was playing in Mr Smith and The Big Ship!

T'was a fantastic evening, with around 100 in attendance.
All the bands were on sparkling form, 30-40 minute sets apiece and all thoroughly entertaining. I'll definately be checking out more Poino and The Dogbones stuff!

I can put names to 3 of the members of '. . .The Big Ships'
Mark Cawthra, Craig Fortnum and Stephen Gilchrist, (and recognised 2 of the others of the 6 piece), switching instruments with abandon between songs.

Memory a bit hazy but im sure they played Big Ship, To Go Off, All Spectacular, Is This the Life, The Duck and Roger (TWICE!) :), Too Many Irons, and Arnald, maybe a couple more.

Rumours of it being the same line-up and set at the next Timmy Benefit on 30th June in Kingston, so that should be another blinder :D
And if she only had stopped making that hissing noise . . .

Ah, Gilchrist is the curly-haired chap? I noticed him around at Roastfest and wondered who he might be. So, that just leaves the mystery guitarist, keyboard player and...?

Thanks for the photos. I must make the effort to go to the next one of these!

Hmm, yes I can't count. They were a 5-piece. Think I counted the MC at the beginning, and they switched round a lot :)
As i said, memory a bit hazy, I blame the Guiness!

The other 2 were Keith Phillips on keys and Ben Mark on guitar

And a big thank you to everyone who was there. Coming from a part of the world where Cardiacs are The Biggest Secret, this was the first time I've ever heard any of these songs live.

You all made my life a little bit better. Thank you!

Sarah N. Dipity did some videos. It's all very exciting, I especially like the man falling down at the end of this To Go Off, really puts a dot on it. :)

Often drunken, occasionally quite scary, frequently emotional messages for Tim.

Meant to post this in the Youtube thread. Where's that gone then eh?

There was a girl taking pictures before the gig with a proper job camera . Does anyone know if those pictures can be found online? She took one of me and my girlfriend, would love to see it :)
