Hello, as you can see, i have put the new board online, most of the old posts are still here, and everyone should be able to log in as usual.
if you have any problems post it here, or if you cant login, try resetting your password first, and only if that fails email me at lennaert@gmail.com
the style of the board is nowhere near finished yet, but it will take me some time to do. but we thought it better to put the new forum online seeing as there have been a lot of problems with the old one.
so there wil be a lot of changes over the next few weeks, but it shouldnt affect the functionality of the board.
any suggestion van also be placed in this thread.

NEW FORUM< IMPORTANT!!!

Re: NEW FORUM< IMPORTANT!!!
lookin good :) one thing i'd like is for the avatar&stats to be on the left side, like before. all forums i visit have this, and it's pretty counter-intuitive to look on the right side
not a fan of [url=http://www.cardiacs.org/forum/styles/revolution/theme/images/bg_list.gif]this image[/url] either, but it's no biggie

Certainly looking different, and i agree the right-hand author profile makes it very wobbly for the western brain.

No edit button here then, fucked up prowler's quote, (just testing for language).

Re: NEW FORUM< IMPORTANT!!!
...that Sidi Bou Said topic from yesterday seems to have dissapeared, along with all the links I posted [sadface]
is this the 'falling down the crack between old and new forum' effect we were warned about?
...good stuff on the whole though, and I'd like to add another voice for avatars on the left [happyface]

Re: NEW FORUM< IMPORTANT!!!
avatars on the left it will be then.
this is just a standard template i downloaded somwhere just to make it look a bit better and not all boring like the standard forums. it still needs customising loads, but i just wanted to have a working board first. like i said, a lot will change over the next few weeks.
but since a lot changed admin wise in this new version, i have to figure it all out first hahaha

...is how this page reads. Will you grab a couple of alternative styles for us when this one's finished frosty? In the fullness of time of course. With the poster on the left side, so one can put a 'voice' to each post as one reads it? I am old and frightened of change perhaps, but this phpBB3 default layout seems counter-intuitive.
BBCode is [i]OFF[/i]
http://www.phpbb3styles.net/ < Bet this doesn't open in a new tab / window.
Lucky you still can't call me a kvnt, isn't it. :)

Re: NEW FORUM< IMPORTANT!!!
As the grumbling has commenced proper... yeah, the heading for every post didn't happen with the last format did it...? Much smaller or preferably not at all i'd say, it certainly interupts the continuity of dialogue.
I quite liked the previous contrast of background colours from one post to another—the two greys—this pale blue and paler blue are a bit too equal. The quotes in white boxes stood out in both cases whereas here more pale blue just doesn't differ enough, or at all...
The formatting tools are easier to use (when they work) though, so that's a plus.
The main heading image ain't doing it for me, could we try some photos.
Nevereverhappy. :)

Re: NEW FORUM< IMPORTANT!!!
like i said, this is a fairly standard theme that i thought would fit best with the museum until i can sort it all out properly.
all will be well eventually.
