This is the album that's responsible for my "conversion". It was the first I'd heard of 'em and remains my favourite album (although in a "desert-island-discs" scenario I'd have to take StG). I was a little pot-head teenager and "Hello Mr. Sparrow" came on at a squat I ...

"Thrusts his fists against the posts and stil insists he sees the ghosts." This was taken from Stephen King's book 'It' which I was reading at the time Angleworm was written which Jon used for lyrics. This is in fact an old tool used by speech therapists. the full verse goes: Amidst the m...

I've always admired Mike Pattons' work with his many different bands. But I have heard talk of a solo album he recorded a few years back consisting solely of noises made by his throat and body. Does anybody know this to be true. I know he contributed throat noises on the last Bjork album, Medulla , ...

What? He wasn't snide at all! That was just the same banter they did with all the bands they had on back then. He even managed to get a fairly decent interview out of Tim in the first session. For what it's worth, I think Radcliffe and Riley's nighttime show was brilliant, and I probably wouldn't h...

I saw Back to the Planet at the Citadel in St.Helens (a popular venue with them Cardiacs circa 1992.) It was a great show. Their first album "Mind & Soul Collaberators" was a favourite of mine back in the day. I drank plenty of scrumpy listening to them and related bands like Senser, C...

Oingo Boingo

Like an American comic book version of Cardiacs but without the time changes. Danny Elfmans old band aren't that well known in England, perhaps their most famous tune is Weird Science from the film of the same name.

Only a Lad and Nothing to fear are the albums to watch out for.

Dog Fashion Disco are reportedly fans. Also there are more obvious ones like D.J.'s Mark Ratcliffe and Mark Riley, Gideon Coe from 6Music.

I also heard that Venetian Snares are converts.

Nothing tops Steve Davis though!

Hello everybody. Just signed up today and thought I'd introduce myself. I'm a 29 year old landscape gardener and musician, originally from St.Helens in Lancashire, but I now live in sunny Lancaster where I'm yet to meet a fellow Cardiaddict, I hope I'm not the only one in this city. I've been a Card...
