Re: Melvins / Napalm Death Single

Bah. Good for the Melvins having this little cottage industry of expensive collectible limited silk-screened instant collectible artifacts, and enough fans to make it go. But yeah, a download or a regular release for the rest of us would be nice...

Re: Where is everyone?

I still like this place, and all its old fashioned gentleman's club charms. I should stop around more often. FB has all the up to the minute news and opinion, and everybody's on it* - but it is also full to the rafters with girly hearts and flowers**, and all this 'Pondie' nonsense and drama heart h...

Re: What you Reading at the mo?

Funny I was just looking at Rebecca in a bookstore last week and wondering if it's good...I have another book by her, about Cornwall. (I think we were talking about that here, a few years ago!) I'm reading a funny old SF by Jack Vance "Planet of Adventure" - a trilogy, I'm currently on vol...

ALMAH&TWWW Appreciated in The Quietus

Sean Kitching wrote a very nice appreciation of this semen-stained album on the occasion of Tim's birthday! (Pardon if it's been posted elsewhere) All kinds of interesting facts and anecdotes sprinkled throughout. Tim sending a note to Lindsay Cooper... :D http://thequietus.com/articles/12737-cardia...

Re: Tame Impala

Tame Impala gig last night, they came to poor old Richmond VA - not known as a hotbed for indie rock - possibly they mistook it for Chapel Hill NC or even Asheville on the map - but anyway I took advantage of their foolishness and went - hey it was a sold out room and a great, fun show. Everybody th...

Re: Real rarities on ebay

I'm not convinced that you can't still get whatever it is you want or NEED off Discogs, or somewhere, cheaper - and leave BSI to do his nefarious and eccentric eBay activities without having to cast aspersions and bad vibes on and on. Unless that's really what you want to do. Crazy world isn't it. W...

Re: Salisbury tribute gig

This looks like quite a big splash, this time - I wish I could go. Airfare in 2007 was about $800 - which was insane but I don't regret it for a minute :D
Airfare 2013, $1200. That's just getting there and back! fvck it I'm afraid. Have fun you beasts and birds.

Re: Real rarities on ebay

I wasn't referring to you Mr Parkinson, or BSI, with my narrow-minded remark about record collector scum. i.e. those who buy up recordings only because they're rare, not because of any special feeling for the band or love of music. (Though sometimes they do good, by making stuff so unobtainable that...

What's the purPose of Bigship_Iron ! None at all, not after the shop opens again. Sorry about that... Oh I'm sure he will still be collecting :D as he was before the machinery ground to a halt. Y'know, deal with it! I shouldn't even be in this section of the forum, as I really don't care about coll...

Re: Real rarities on ebay

Apparently the shop will be back in order with CDs "soon", per K Torabi. Which will make record collectors and speculators sad. Which makes me happy. If you read Adrian Bell's book there's a chapter devoted to mr BSI, in which he attempts to explain his love of collecting Cardiacs gear (an...

The grin on Tim's face during Icky Qualms :D - sent me back to Archive, a piffol a day keeps the doctor away.
A service to mankind, having this available, good going Mr. K.
