Re: Prog dinosaurs

Saw Van der Graaf Generator in Germany last night... Fantastic experience... So great that they managed to stick so many 1970s epics in one setlist :D

Re: Tim Smith interview 1997

DaN : You wrote something weird on the "Manhoo" single, something about not disturbing commercial sensibilities, and you removed some more difficult parts from it... Tim: Oh, that was because it was too long and when it's too long it won't be played on the radio, so we had to cut a chunk ...

Re: Piffol....

Btw; was there ever a Piffol two times? Someone should ask Kavus. In this interview he mentions it as being one of his favorite Cardiacs tracks :D http://www.cardiacs.com/interviews/bite-me-magazine-april-2005-kavus-torabi/ Honestly though I wouldn't be surprised if it was just T.V.T.V. But it woul...

Re: Prog dinosaurs

I've seen Ian Anderson's TAAB in France earlier last year. Quite an underwhelming experience sadly. The performance wasn't bad itself - even though TAAB 1 was quite a disappointement. But that was probably because I hyped it too much(that album is one of the few non-Cardiacs&friends album that m...

Re: Kavus on Tim

I for one think that: a) one more confirmation that Tim's intellect has remained untouched, and b) he's taking his own situation pretty well, are pretty good news!

Re: Nurses Whispering Verses

Yeah, on one of the live performances (Radcliffe?) doesn't he say 'sorry Dagmar' or something before playing it (as in Dagmar Krause from SH)? Yes you're right! Sounds like he says "sorry Dagmar hope you don't mind" at the beginning of the Radcliffe session version :) 59:45 http://www.you...

"Joining the Plankton": Cardiacs tribute eBook by Josh Myers

This came up on Cardiacs mail list a few days ago. Has anyone here bought it? In this tribute to Tim Smith of the band Cardiacs, author Josh Myers brings the reader into a trance-like state with his hypnotic use (and misuse) of language. Part literary idolatry, part surrealist work, JOINING THE PLAN...

Re: The Obvious Identity

I have on my naughty digital version a track listed as "Unknown", it's listed as track 7, it's 1:18 long and it's a quiet little instrumental on the "A Balloon for Bertie's Party" theme. It's not on any track listing I know, so I suppose it was an hidden track at the end of face 1?
