Re: Bug Prentice

We're currently working on an album, but during the sessions we allowed ourselves to be sidetracked and recorded a Beatles cover as a birthday gift for my best friend. Listen/download here.

Re: MARESNEST SCREEN RATIO?

Tbh, depending on what their master actually is, blowing it up really wouldn't make a hugely appreciable difference to the quality. Maybe the picture wouldn't improve that much, but the sound quality could be great on blu-ray. Cardiacs in 24bit 96khz audio, yes please.. I meant in terms of having a...

Re: Field Music

I'm the opposite funex...I wouldn't normally say this, but I think I preferred it when they were writing pop songs with slightly fiddly drums in rather than trying to be experimental. For me much of Plumb meanders by without much in the way of ideas. About half of the tracks sound near indistinguis...

Re: What game did you play today ?

I'm only on Steam with my PSN account, which is BugPrentice. Maybe that's why I found someone other than you. I don't have Steam on my Mac, it's incompatible with my out-of-date OS...

I'm somewhere in the middle of that right now. Brilliant indeed. Had to cheat a couple of times though, sometimes my lateral thinking fails me.

Re: Medications

My copy of Completely Removed arrived today and I'm delighted with it. It sounds like Faraquet got bitten by a radioactive Field Music, maybe even with hints of Ben Folds Five (and of course Beatles) in there. I'm not quite as averse to "pop", so I enjoyed it all. Cheers again, Bob.

Re: Blotted Science

They cover Bambi, the Disney movie in this song (in sync to the movies too)... it's uber mind-blowing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhP4lg28fs0 The way vocal inflections are converted to melodies is reminiscent of Steve Reich's Different Trains. But metal... and Disney... Mind-boggling stuff, that.

Re: Medications

I've been enjoying Faraquet for quite a while. Why didn't I know about Medications before? Well perhaps because they're from Washington, DC, not exactly a town noted (save for Fugazi) for a big music scene. And they're DIY to the core (Devin plays drums as well as guitar and Chad plays guitar, bass...

Re: Deerhoof

yeah i think what i miss most is the rockin drums and riffs ... maybe recording everything DIY meant they couldn't get beefy sounds you'd get with professional studios/engineers. or maybe i'm full of shit and that's how they wanted it :) Yeah, I feel the same way. Offend Maggie had become my favour...

Cheers, it's nice to know someone's listening and liking it.
