Re: Daddy YouTube brings in all nother world
I'm surprised this hasn't been spotted and posted before, a Cardiacs tribute called "Seething Eddies" (like it!) played in Scunthorpe back in April. Fortunately someone was on hand to film it and put on t'interweb. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVpZp49xRXM (Arnald, In A City Lining, Gin...

Re: Trad
I've just noticed that there appears to be a new release from 2012 on Tibet's Coptic Cat label, Out of the Coma . It consists of three new songs plus a lengthy song recorded live in 1972. I don't have this, though the reviews are mostly positive. 'Out of the coma' is worth getting, the new material...

Re: Krautrock
Here's a link to Pictures by Island, a late 70s Swiss band who are often classed as Krautrock. Whether they should be classified as Krautrock doesn't really matter of course; the important thing is the quality of the music, which I think scores pretty highly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GS5XP4-g...

Die Laughing
I see that all the demos of Kavus' excellent early 90s metal band Die Laughing have been uploaded onto youtube, if anyone else was seeking them. A lot of the Celtic Frost worship of the time coming through with an added rush of Voivod-ian time/tempo changes and getting more "psychedelic" a...

Re: Your Most Embarrassing "Favorite" Band, Album or Phase
OK, I can't believe I'm about to confess this being the extreme metal, darkened soul that I am, but I used to own the first two a-Ha albums, Hunting High and Low and Scoundrel Days . I think I was, er, experimenting or something. What was I thinking? Those albums are great! And I'm a metal g...

Re: Re:
A lot of nice things on that list, there is a lot of 80s RIO/zeuhl in there, most of the great 90s Japanese acts, it's a nice list, though it doesn't have the notoriety of the NWW list which has inspired obscurantists since 79. I believe one of the people in that band ran the Mutant Sounds blog whi...

Yes i've been charmed by that tour too, a while back; it's nice to see artists in their cribs, especially if they're not gangster rappers (or whatever they're called nowadays). :) The NWW list is a triumph of its kind: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nurse_with_Wound_list You'd literally never go hung...
