Re: An Ant Bumming Shed Rehearsal?

That Wildhearts DVD was widescreen letterboxed on a 4:3 image. So frustrating, since you've essentially thrown away a third of the pixels... Hopefully this won't be the case for the Garage Rehearsals.

Re: What game did you play today ?

Kinglaurie, I have to hold my hands up here and say that I'm totally out of my depth. I'm a pc guy, everything I know I've learnt through experience and since I've never needed or built a mac compatible pc, I know squat. I've been having a look at some compatibility lists and it seems that there ar...

Re: What game did you play today ?

I'd need to use my firewire audio interface, so sound card is probably least important! Windows 7 can be "acquired", ditto keyboard mouse and monitor.

Cheers (preemptively) for taking the time!

Re: What game did you play today ?

As a sound engineer I swear by mac stuff. I use Final Cut a wee bit, though I'm on Premiere and After Effects a lot these days too. I've just helped set up a dual boot Sandy Bridge Dell at work and want something similar at home. Installing Snow Leopard ended up being very very easy up until messing...

Re: What game did you play today ?

Right, I'm selling my iMac and building a hackintosh, which will double as a gaming rig. Can someone "build" me one i.e. link me to the bits. I want it to be badass for games in windows 7 but also handle my video and audio production in OSX and parts should come to 500 or 600 squiddies. Th...

Re: Deerhoof

I think the production is their best yet! They've obviously spent time getting exactly the sounds that they heard in their heads, regardless of rock production conventions.

Also, they ended up putting this live recording on the album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erGWUqFHvJo

Re: The reason we're Cardiacs fans!

kinglaurie1> What? Music can be in 4/4 and still be good... It doesn't have to be in "weird timings" to be valid and interesting. Maybe that's not what you meant, but from a lot of your posts I get the feeling that you need music to be difficult in order for you to enjoy it. If I supposed...

Re: The reason we're Cardiacs fans!

I noticed that the singer is posting angry, bitter comments on all their videos, then on one of them the guitarist joins in and they get into a big scrap :) Entertaining stuff!

Re: The reason we're Cardiacs fans!

Look, I'm like Zappa -- I can bop around the house to Magma or Egg in 7/4 or 17/8 all day long, but I have to be pretty plastered to attempt to dance in 4/4 time -- especially in public. And I'm straight. So I don't and I never have gone out to clubs where there's recorded music. Thus the history o...

How old are you? I'm 24, got into prog when I was about 15. I doubt age has much to do with it, tbh, it's just a matter of what your ears take a fancy to.

I'm 21. It's not that I don't like the music, I just haven't "got round to it" yet!

At 4.68, it has the highest mean rating of any of them!
