Re: Daddy YouTube brings in all nother world

Two very nice hours of The Consultant's video from Tim's 40th surprise birthday bash. Maybe you're 'in it'...mostly a Monsoon Bassoon performance under a tent, with revelry in the foreground http://youtu.be/SaLn17xSZZM (edit) Sidi Bou Said too. I posted this before watching! (edit 2) You're just go...

Re: Shearwater

Thor Harris is an incredible drummer/percussionist.

He's also in Swans. That says a lot.

<3 Shearwater also.

Re: Tame Impala

I like my psychedelia a bit more unhinged than this. I find this album a bit breezy and summery. Does nothing for me I must say. It's not mentally ill enough.

Re:

Saw her two sets at Butlins last weekend. She's still astounding and had what is potentially quite an unengaged venue/audience, with a bar at each end, in complete silence, almost reverie you might say. Did Emily one day, and Monkey and Bear the next, and a scattering of the best from Have One.. an...

Beth Jeans Houghton

Whilst she might have a slightly unwieldy name, there's no disputing that 'Yours Truly, Cellophane Nose" is a great album title.

Also: it's totally brilliant.

Re: Field Music

I didn't used to like Field Music.

However, the new album 'Plumb' is an absolute sausage of an album.

A really good sausage.

Lonnnie

Sometimes listed as 'Lxnnnie', as it is on Spotify. Lxnnnie In Disasterland and Sleeping It Off are both fantastic - sort of a gloomy druggy Beck* with hints of the Residents. He has quite a large discog, but it's quite hard to track down, so the handful of discs on Spotify is best bet for a kickoff...

Re: Horrid black metal

I saw Liturgy @ Iceland Airwaves just a couple of weeks ago. Awesome live band. I wouldn't call it black metal though, eventhough they call themselves "trancendental black metal". I think it's a mistake, cause the mood that their music has, is nowhere near BM, and that tag might even prev...

It's ok to like Manowar and Saxon and Whitesnake and Kiss and bad hair metal stuff. Seriously. It's ok.

Just tunes innit.

You can be angry and funny, without just sounding like an old misery guts.

He's turned from Chris Morris into David Starkey.

I'm not into this. It's not witty enough like the last couple were, it's just miserable. Shame.
