Ok, I will now, and make it a summer read! :D

And should mention I've got it in a lovely old 70s penguin paperback.

It's a very nice bracelet. One of my best friends is an amputee, she had cancer of the knee, but they had to remove half way up the thigh to make sure htey got all the damaged cells. What'd the NHS view on the cost of a new prosthesis? Won't they contribute? Or is it in fact the NHS that's charging ...

I mean the DEA in the US isn't called the Narcotics or Pharmaceuticals or Medicine Enforcement Agency! Yeah but they buy booze and guns (and cigs?) from drug stores don't they? :) Exactly, so you see, they are all drugs like I said to begin with! And maybe there is hope for the USA! Maybe th...

John Wyndham. Day of the Triffids is excellent, as are many of his other books. If you haven't read Day of the Triffids don't be put off by the ropey old film they made of it with Howard Keel. There's much more to this superb book than most people who haven’t read it imagine. Agreed, the first Wynd...

I also just realised that he's not on my fantasy list either, and should be. A great author, I simply forogt to include him.

Re: Narcotics and poisons of days gone by.

Apart from dope. but that's a plant, not a drug. Yea, Poppies are just flowers, Coca leaves are just leaves from a plant, and Hemp is just a plant (for the record Hemp is the plant, cannabis is the drug extracted from it. Cannabis is not the name of the plant) All growing naturally, no one is dispu...

WTF is HG Wells doing in a list of Fantasy authors? :x Because I put 'im there, alright pal! But seriously a lot of his work is fantasy in one way or another. Plus as far as I'm concerned fantasy is the umbrella term for all and any fiction that isn't based on a probable reality e.g science ...

The arrogance of the human race makes it believe it can ' help ' Mother Nature. Mother Nature doesnt need our help, and if she so desires, she can rid us from this planet all together. The dinosaurs didnt bring about their own ice age, it just happened, and it will happen again. In fact, we're past...

I personally don't think mankind has caused a lick of difference to the climate. the biosphere has always and will always change at its own pace. Serious scientists have shown this. Just look at the ice ages and heatwaves across thousands of years.
