hmm I thought he mainly did percussion? can you point out some examples of his synth work?

I think Minutemen and Husker Du are both acknowledged influences, and I really should at least check out both, because that was around the time in the late 80s when hardcore (which I loathed at the time) started musically developing. The Police vocal comparison only struck me for one song. yeah you...
